HONEYWELL INTRODUCES NEW UNIVERSAL PRESSURE TRANSDUCER/TRANSMITER

Ruggedness and accuracy combined for Industrial Sensing applications

COLUMBUS, OH., May 26, 2004 - Honeywell [NYSE: HON] Sensing and Control announces a new universal pressure transducer/transmitter from its Sensotec Test and Measurement business. The Model BDR sensor delivers accuracies of +/-0.5% BFSL or +/-0.25% BFSL in the toughest industrial applications, including hydraulic jackstands strong enough to lift the Superdome, transmission testing and water-inventory management. Constructed from all-welded stainless steel instead of plastic, and available in ranges from 0-150 psi (10 bar) through 0-15,000 psi (1,500 bar), the Model BDR features configurable electrical connections that maximize adaptability to varied applications. Thermal error is low: +/-0.01% F.S./°C.

Versatility is key to the Model BDR's usefulness. Unlike many similar sensors it is not industry dependent, and can handle essentially any process gas or fluid and serve as a drop-in OEM replacement for older sensors. According to designer Brian Richards, the Model BDR is " an entry-level product with much higher specs than you'd usually find in this type of sensor."
