Application

Customer needs to measure a flow rate of 0-6 milliliters/ minute at a pressure of 1000 psi. The flow is in a pipe connecting to two containers, each holding different fluids. The pipe carries both fluids to a common assembly where they're mixed and extruded as one new fluid. There is NO flowmeter available to measure this low rate of flow with such high pressure to obtain mass flow.

Solution

Our solution is to use a Model 31 load cell on each of the two containers holding fluid. The load cells tell the SC instrument the change in weight in each container over a specified time period. This data, then, is converted through a math channel into grams/minute and displayed on the SC dual display.
