Automotive Applications Using Honeywell Sensotec Products
Pressure Sensors, Pressure Transducers & Transmitters, Load
Cells and Instrumentation
Since 1973, Honeywell Sensotec is a
leading manufacturer of superior quality transducers and
instrumentation for a wide range of applications, especially
in the automotive and automotive related industries. Thousands
of our pressure transducers, pressure sensors, pressure
transmitters, load cells, accelerometers, displacement transducers,
and instruments are in operation today on engine test stands,
dynamometers, and many other automotive applications around
the world. |

PRESSURE TRANSDUCERSHoneywell
Sensotec provides a complete family of absolute, gauge digital
gauges, covering pressure ranges from less than 0.1 psi
to 200,000 psi. Our customers can select from a wide variety
of accuracies, sizes, signal outputs and pressure fittings
to meet their exact requirements. Our unique `True gauge'
design utilizes dual diaphragms to hermetically seal strain
gauge circuitry from extraneous fluids such as transmission
oil, and provide excellent performance under temperature
extremes from -100ºF to +400ºF. This all-welded, stainless
steel design gives unparalleled precision and stability
in demanding applications such as engine and transmission
test stands. |
|
LOAD CELLSHoneywell Sensotec's
load cells are industrially hardened and provide high accuracy
load and force measurements from less than a gram to more
than 3 million pounds. Our family of rugged and precise
miniature and sub-miniature load cells are unmatched in
their applicability to harsh environments with very tight
clearances. The all-welded stainless steel construction
provides consistently accurate performance in areas such
as engine horsepower testing while withstanding vibration,
shock, and environmental extremes. With accuracies to 0.02%
and optional fatigue rated designs, these load cells provide
long life for high-cycle operations common in automotive
testing and production. |
|
ACCELEROMETERSHoneywell Sensotec
offers both strain gauge and piezoelectric accelerometers
to cover a wide range of vibration and shock monitoring
applications, with ranges from 5 to 2000 g and frequencies
from DC to 60 kHz. Our rugged, highly accurate shear mode
accelerometers are unaffected by large temperature gradients
or flexure in accelerometer mounting surface. This makes
them particularly applicable to NVH (Noise, Vibration, and
Harshness) testing as well as vehicle road testing. Honeywell
Sensotec also has a complete line of specially designed,
miniature crash-test accelerometers, featuring high sensitivity
and frequency response. |

DISPLACEMENT PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS
Honeywell Sensotec Linear Variable Differential Transformer
(LVDT) displacement transducers are available in both AC
and DC powered versions with full scale ranges from 0.01
to 36 inches. These welded, all stainless steel transducers
can operate in temperatures from -60º F to +250º F to meet
the environmental requirements of a wide variety of applications.
With linearity of 0.25% and a variety of armature designs,
Honeywell Sensotec's LVDTs are well suited to the demanding
requirements of precision manufacturing and testing operations
such as body panel gaging and shaft alignment monitoring. |
|
INSTRUMENTATION Honeywell Sensotec
manufactures a wide variety of transducer instrumentation
including single and multi-channel signal conditioners,
analog and digital indicators, and internal and in-line
amplifiers. The Model SC provides up to fourteen self-calibrating
input channels when used with a transducer equipped with
our unique Signature Calibration module. This is
ideal for research and development labs and testing locations
that use multiple transducers with a single instrument.
Honeywell Sensotec's portable, battery operated instruments
are widely used on test tracks and for over-the-road and
off-road vehicle testing. |
