Dual Output Load Cells and Torque Cells
The dual output of both digital and analog signals allows for flexibility
for the customer with force/torque measurement applications where
both conventional 0-5 VDC is required and digital output directly
into a PC is needed. Digital output is available in both RS485 or
RS232.
With less than 1 millisec step response on the analog output and greater than
300 readings per second on the digital output, Honeywell Sensotec’s digital
output load cells and torque cells provide dual solutions. These products feature
very good thermal characteristics because the effects of temperature are automatically
corrected internally. The zero and span adjustments are made electronically—no
need for manual adjustments. The digital output is especially useful on the
manufacturing shop floor because it alleviates the problems of data measurement
caused by EMI and RFI. In addition, the all-welded stainless steel construction
is ideally suited for rugged application environments.
Potential Applications:
Transmission test stands where digital output torque sensor is used
for verification of the in-line and real-time torque measurement.
The customer needed output directly from the torque sensor into
a lap top PC. The Honeywell Sensotec digital output torque sensor
provided the solution and saved the customer the expense of extra
hardware and measurement system set-up required to go from the sensor
thru a PLC, data acquisition system, or other signal conditioning
device. (This is most recent. This is an automotive transmission
test stand for a transmission used by one of the major automotive
manufacturer’s on a very high volume product line.)
