MODEL MPB HIGH-CAPACITY LOAD CELLS FROM HONEYWELL SENSOTEC
Columbus, Ohio, July 29, 2004—Honeywell [NYSE: HON] Sensing
and Control announces the Model MPB Family of high-capacity compression
load cells from its Sensotec Test and Measurement business. With
a small footprint (1 in. to 14 in. high, 1.25 to 10 in. dia.) and
rugged, all-welded stainless steel construction, these cells suit
demanding industrial applications characterized by extreme loads,
limited space, tough environmental conditions, and a need for precision
measurement.
Ranges are from 2,000 lb to 3 million lb; accuracy is ±
0.25% F.S. Standard output is 2 mV/V; other available outputs are
0–5 VDC, 0–10 VDC, and 4–20 mA. The MPB family
tolerates temperatures from –65 to 250ºF. Options include
submersible connectors and cabling and operating temperature up
to 400ºF.
Model MPB load cells are used to check pressure in rolling mills,
monitor mooring lines on oil platforms, and gauge the load on hydraulic
presses. These rugged load cells also weigh ladles of molten steel
and measure rocket thrust.
As with all Honeywell Sensotec sensors, custom sizes and ranges
of the Model MPB are available to accommodate specific applications.
